4219 and 4229 address question
« on: August 13, 2006, 05:13:32 PM »
I have looked everywhere and just cant seem to be able to find what I am looking for.

I have an Ademco 4219 which I need to set address of "07". I understand read that the setting of the dip switch is to be:
2-off
3-off
4-off
5-on

I need to set up
1-4219 for "08"

1-4219 for "09"

1-4229 for "10"

Can someone help by explaining to me how you can tell  the dip switch settings by looking at the dip switch setting paperwork? Or if not mabe just the settings for 08, 09, 10.

Thank you for any help you may offer.

I am just completing the my install.
20P
1-5881ENM
3-4219
1-4229i
4-5808 smokes
4-5819s
2-DS835i

The following will explain enabling expanders on the Vista-15P and 20P.
You donít need enable the 4219/4229 hardwire expanders.

When you program a zone as Input-Type AW in zone programming, the panel automatically enables the appropriate zone expanders.

Zones 9-16 = address 07

Zones 17-24 = address 08

Zones 25-32 = address 09

Zones 23-40 = address 10

Zones 41-48 = address 11

For example, If you program zones 15, 16, 17, 18 as AW zones, the panel enables (2) 4219 expanders: address 07 and 08.

Thank you Pete

I looked at the diagram again today and I now see  how to set the dip switches.
Thank you again for your help.
Now I can proceed into programing. Wish me luck.
